THE COASTAL RESILIENCE LAB

AT UC SANTA CRUZ

Building coastal resilience, naturally.

Our group works to build resilience and sustainability in the face of growing coastal hazards. We assess risks and identify solutions that span conservation, restoration, policy, finance and insurance.

We focus on the role of ecosystems in providing natural defenses to people and property.

Our Research

Flood Risk

Coastal flood risk is a serious issue across California, the U.S. and beyond. Our research focuses on habitats and ecosystems that reduce that risk naturally.
